The British Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition 2019

I am delighted that my image ‘Welcome to Narnia’ has been selected as the category winner for this years competition. Having not entered the BWPA’s before I didn’t really know what to expect. So I was both surprised and excited to receive a phone call from the organiser of the awards, Maggie back in July, to confirm that my shot had been chosen.

The competition is in its 10th anniversary year and celebrates some of the finest photography from world-leading professionals as well as exceptional enthusiasts. It really does capture the magnificent diversity of Britains flora and fauna.

There is a stunning book available containing over 150 of the winning, commended and highly commended images that is well worth a look at, as well as an exhibition that I believe tours various venues around the UK next year. I will try to keep you updates with details when released.

I would like to thank the organisers and judges for their warm welcome at the exhibition launch and prize giving at the Mall Galleries (London) last Wednesday. It was a fabulous evening and a great excuse to dig out a snazzy shirt.
